Maine winters offer an abundance of outdoor activities for sportsmen and families alike! Sunday River and Mount Abrams ski areas are only a few short minutes from L'Auberge. Across the street at the Bethel Inn Cross country skiers will enjoy miles of groomed trails at one of three touring centers located in the River Valley. Snowshoers will love the serene wooded trails at Grafton Notch, and well maintained snowmobile trails are only a few minutes from town. With many small lakes and ponds found in the area, icefishing is the thing to do for the sportsman.
With Spring you will find even more
to do! The Androscoggin River is just perfect for fly fishing at this time of
year. Couples can enjoy romantic early evening walks together, stopping only
to smell the fragrant first blooms of the season. Enjoy Maine's nature in all
its splendor!
Summertime in Maine is a vacationer's paradise. Bicyclists will delight in endless miles of winding, country roads amidst a picturesque New England backdrop. Hiking through Grafton Notch State Park's scenic trails is always a treat, while water sports on the Adroscoggin River is a cool way to beat the Summer sun. Be sure to have your camera ready - Moose, otters, eagles and deer are just a few of the wildlife that inhabit its banks. For the adventure lover, we have two in-house Master Guides available for nature tours and other outdoor activities. Plan a family fishing trip with one of our guides and try your luck in one of our numerous out-of-the-way ponds and streams.
Autumn in Maine is simply breathtaking. No artist is able to paint with the brilliance and the hues that Mother Nature is able to provide. The hills and mountains surrounding the valley are awash with a kaleidoscope of colors - a virtual "leaf peepers" paradise!
